HE SAID, SHE SAID
Being around kids a lot isn’t the norm for novice actor Alec Musser (Del). But since many kids have come on board the AMC bandwagon, Musser’s been inducted into the Romper Room, quite willinging. He’s forever charmed by the way kids think and behave, and especially has fond words for Lucy Merriam (Emma) and Alexa Gerasimovich (Kathy/Kate). They act more mature for their age (4) than he ever remembered being, he said. And they have this cute habit of calling us by our character names, he continued. Or, in his particular case, recalling his Del having eaten Kathy’s chocolate cake in a scene. “Alexa saw me the other day and said, ‘Hey, are you Del?’ I said, ‘Yep!’ She said, ‘You ate my cake!’ It was so funny.” –Soap Opera Digest, April 10, 2007

Lexie loves working with me, so she's all over me like a little ferret. We have to tell her, "No, you're not quite there yet, honey." For a 6-year-old, she's really amazing. There are a couple of things I have done with her where I was just stunned that she was so well-focused and concentrated.

Oh she is fantasic. She is adorable. Lexi's got more energy than any 5 adults put together. The one thing we have to reminder her is, cause there's all these toys that are on the set and she loves them. We have to reminder her, 'okay Lexi its pretend play'. Now Ive been doing this a long time and this kid constantly does stuff that surprises me. I remember that we were doing a scene in the chapel after Tad finds out Kathy is his. And I remember asking her something, umm I forgot what the question was, something about calling me daddy, and the kids reaction was just so different and so unexpected. The thing about Lexi is that she actually will listen to you while your acting with her she's not necessarily saying a line. Yeah sometimes we get her to make sure she knows her cue and stuff. I actually think this kid is going to turn out to be a really great actress."
